eton and zeifu not only control the global r&d and sales of heavy transmission, but also almost monopolize the chinese heavy transmission market. as early as the beginning of china's reform and opening-up in 1980s, eaton and zeifu transferred the manufacturing technology of heavy transmission to shaanxi automobile manufacturing factory and sichuan automobile manufacturing factory for a fee respectively, which were matched by the steyr heavy truck introduced at that time. both of them later evolved into the two dominant players in china's heavy transmission market: faster and qijiang gears.
